AwayReady

Overview

AwayReady is a free clinical reference app designed for fourth-year medical students on anesthesia away rotations. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes. The app does not display ads.

Information We Collect

AwayReady collects the minimum information needed to provide its features:

• Google account name and email address — collected when you choose to sign in with Google. Used solely to identify your account and sync your quiz progress across devices.
• Quiz and flashcard progress — your answers, scores, and completion state, stored in your account so progress persists across sessions.

We do not collect health data, location data, payment information, or any other personal information.

Sign-In is Optional

Google Sign-In is entirely optional. All drug reference content, dose calculators, emergency protocols, and checklists are fully available without signing in or creating an account. Sign-in is only required if you want to save your quiz and flashcard progress.

How We Use Your Information

• To authenticate your identity when you sign in
• To save and restore your quiz progress across devices
• To display your name within the app

We do not use your information for marketing, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating the app's core features.

Third-Party Services

AwayReady uses the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

• Google Sign-In — for optional account authentication. Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase (Google) — for secure cloud storage of quiz progress. Firebase Privacy Policy

No other third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs are included in the app.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data (name, email, quiz progress) is retained as long as you have an account. To delete your data, sign out of the app and contact us at the email below to request permanent deletion of your account and associated data. We will fulfill deletion requests within 30 days.

Children's Privacy

AwayReady is intended for use by medical students and healthcare professionals (18 years of age or older). We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Medical Disclaimer

AwayReady is an educational reference tool for medical trainees. It is not a substitute for clinical judgment, attending physician oversight, or your institution's official drug formulary. Drug information may not reflect the most current guidelines. The creators are not responsible for clinical decisions made using this app.

Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date below. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
